Crafting Up A Storm

Sunday, 2 December 2012

It's been a busy weekend here as it was my sons birthday Friday then my daughters Saturday! These are the cards I made for them.

My sons card uses an old SAB set call Sprinkled Expressions, I love it for boys cards. The colours are Marina Mist & Whisper White, nice & simple. The stars are from the Merry Minis punch set.

My daughters card is using the gorgeous Twitterpated papers which I can't get enough of. And the Apothecary Framelits, again nice & simple.

Thank you card

If you placed an order with me this month you would have received this card. It's a simple one this time. Just a Basic Grey base card with Whisper White matted on top. The decorative edge has been done using one of the new Edgelits. What a pretty design. I'll be using this one loads.

I've stamped one of the flowers from the Mixed Bunch set then punched out with the matching punch. Along with another shape in Wild Wasabi for the leaves & finished off with the sentiment from Kindness Matters.

Quick thank you cards

Here are the thank you cards that I have popped in with customer orders this month. Another demo recommended this set to me and I'm really pleased that I got it. It's Kindness Matters pg 74 and its only £8.95 in the clear mount, what a bargain! It's got the 'thanks' sentiment & 'kindness matters' which I think is just lovely.

I've been having a play with my new piercing pack too. Another bargain at only £7.25 for 3 templates. I really think it adds a nice touch to simple cards. I imagine it would work well on men's cards too.

Twitterpated Tea Caddy

I can post this now I have given it to the recipient. I made this tea caddy that I had seen various versions on line of to my friend. She has lent me her car carrier so we could bring Timmy home & so that I can take him to have his injections at the vets.

This is made with Basic Grey & Blushing Bride (retired) card stock and my favourite Twitterpated papers.

It is actually pretty simple to make, once I'd worked out the dimensions. I also made one for another friend who I drink a lot of tea with but I forgot to photograph it!

Blogging absence

I must apologise for a lack of posts, it's half term here and we just got a kitten so we've been a bit distracted.

Here's a picture of him to make up for it, he's only 7 weeks old and his name is Timmy.

Final cards for class on Saturday 13th October

Here's the final 4 cards we'll be making this Saturday at the class.

This class uses the gorgeous Betsy's Blossoms stamp set, I love that flower burst image. I've used all the new In-Colours too which have made for a really bright class.

Quick boys birthday card

I made this for my son's friend as we went to a birthday party this weekend.

It's just a Chocolate Chip card base with lots of 5's cut with a number die. Stuck onto Whisper White then put through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice embossing folder.

Sentiment is Petit Pairs in Chocolate Chip punched out with the large oval punch. I went round the edges with the ink pad then put on with dimensionals.

Betsy's Blossoms class sneak peek

Here's a sneak peek at 2 of the cards we'll be making next Saturday at our class. We're using the new Betsy's Blossoms stamp set & the new In Colours.

I love the effect of using the Blossom punch with the flower burst stamp so I have created a Flower Pot card. We're also making a zig zag card too, I love using the leave stamp to create a patterned background.

Yes I know it's Tuesday! But I gave myself the day off yesterday. We had a busy weekend and I needed to recharge my batteries. I'm back with a card for the Mojo Monday challenge #261.

The card base is Soft Suede with a panel if Very Vanilla. I've used the Top Note Die and Cherry Cobbler card stock along with some Wisteria Wonder bakers twine. The snowflake is the Snow Flurry die and the little stars are from the Merry Minis punch pack. The sentiment us from the Petit Pairs set.

I'm pleased with how this turned out as I just made it up as I went along, normally I plan more but I just went for it today!

My card today is for the Freshly Made Sketches #54  . The card base is Bashful Blue card stock with some of the lovely Festival of Prints paper, I love this chevon print. The flower is the Flower Burst stamp from the Betsy's Blossom stamp set. It's stamped using Bashful Blue ink onto Bashful Blue card stock and then punched out with the Blossom Punch. It's finished off with a pretty Filligree Brad.  The sentiment is from the Petit Pairs set.

New In Colour Thank You Card

Just a quickie post to show you the thank you card my customers will be receiving this month. My pre order goodies arrived today & I couldn't wait to have a play with the new ink pads.

I've used a flower image from a new stamp set coming in the new book called Betsy's Blossoms. Punched out with the Postage Stamp punch, which will be back to order in the new book too.

I love the new colours they're so fresh and the coverage with the new ink pads is great.

A cute Thank You card

I'm playing along again at Mojo Monday and we've been challenged to make a card using a different shape. What a great idea, I definitely don't do something like this enough.

I've used my label framelits as a base shape with Basic Grey card stock. The paper is from the gorgeous Twitterpated papers pack which I'm pleased to say will be in the new book. The tea cup & sentiment are from the Tea Shoppe stamp set which will also be available in October.

These are my all time favourite papers so if you get a card from me using these papers you must be a good friend!

Saturday, 22 September 2012

I had a great time yesterday at the crop & managed to do two layouts. Though I only had A4 card stock but I like that actually as it goes with the size & shape of the photos.

The papers are the Everyday Enchantment papers from Sale a Bration earlier this year. The card bases are Lucky Limeade & Pool Party.

I've kept them Clean & Simple as they will be going back on the wall as apposed to in an album.

Friday, 21 September 2012

Well I'm off to a crop today, I don't scrap book usually but do admire them a lot. I've got some school photos that are just stuck on our conservatory wall & I think they would look some much better mounted in some way. So that us my task today. So this is my before photo & tomorrow I'll show what I've come up with.

Christmas Card

I've just been organising my youngest birthday party today, can't believe he'll be 5 this year. Where does the time go! As he's only just started school I think it will be good to have a party to get to know his new class mates.

Also today I've made a quick Christmas card, the base card is Cherry Cobbler with strips of the Festival of Papers going across. The sentiment is from the Petit Pairs set stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla card stock. The flower is from the Mixed Bunch set also stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla then punched out with the co ordinating punch. Finished off with a pearl in the centre. I'm going to enter this in to the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #53.

Birthday Card

Today I'm posting about a card I've made for my Dad to give to my Grandma. It's A5 sized which is not a size I would normally make but that's what my Dad asked for.

I've not got an envelope to fit it but I can use my trusty Score board to make one from some patterned paper later.

I'm entering this card into the ColourQ challenge #155 so have used Rich Razzleberry, Perfect Plum, Old Olive and So Saffron. The stamp set is Greenhouse Garden with the sentiment from the Sincere Salutations set, both of which are retiring at the end of September. The punch along the bottom is also retiring but don't worry there's going to be lots more goodies coming soon on the new SU! Catalogue out 1st October.  The letters are from the Letter It set which will still be available....phew!

Wedding Card

My friend asked me to make a card for her as she was going to a wedding. No brief really or colours just modern as it is a young couple.

I think I've achieved that with this card. The base is Wisteria Wonder one of my favourite colours and I've used the new Lacy Brocade folder for the background. The sentiment is from the Petit Pairs set and the flourish is from the Artistic Etchings set, which I've not used nearly enough. The frame is one of the Designer embossing frames cut out with a Framelit. Finished off with some rhinestones.

I'm also entering this card into 2 challenges, the Less is More challenge week #85 theme which is Oval and the Allsorts challenge blog week #172 where the theme is Purple Passion.

Mojo Monday

I can't believe it's Monday again already, the weekend really flew for me. Today is a day of catching up with housework and doing errands.

I have managed to get a bit of crafty time this morning whilst waiting for my washing! I've joined in with the Mojo Monday challenge #259 with a card for a very dear friend of mine that has started a new job. We've been friends since we were 5 though she doesn't live near me anymore we try to keep in touch as much as our busy lives let us.

I've gone for an Island Indigo base with Early Espresso accents and a strip of one of the gorgeous papers from the Featival of Prints pack. Finished off with a Cherry Cobbler 1 1/4 " scallop circle and antique brad.

The stamped images are from the Everything Eleanor set, surprise surprise! Well it was already out from my crop. I hope she likes it, I'm sure she will. So much better than a text.

It's for my mother in laws birthday on Monday. It's using my favourite go stamp set Everything Eleanor. The card base is Rose Red, the blue paper background is from the Timeless Portrait papers, the typed papers are the First Edition speciality papers which I love and the butterflies are Early Espresso from my trusty Beautiful Wings embosslit.

Charity stall

Today I shall be here:

It's a charity event to raise money for breast cancer, two 7 year old girls are walking 10 miles for charity. There's a fayre at the finish with lots of stalls, the Olympic torch, Peppa & George pig & loads more. I'm really looking forward to being there.

I shall be there promoting my Stampin' Up! Classes & products. I shall also be offering a make & take.

It's using the gorgeous Twitterpated papers and Tea Shoppe stamp set which are only available until the end of August!

Christmas themed punch art class

Looks like the sunny weather is back, great news for the kids on summer holidays, best not speak too soon though!

I know it seems a little early for Christmas but I would say most crafters would be starting their Christmas cards by now and this class is a start on all those cards.

I've seen punch art cards and thought how fab they looked and always wanted to give them a try.

I was inspired by some of the creations I saw whilst looking on the internet for the above.  I hope my class enjoy making them as much as me.

Reason to Smile

Here's a quick card I've put together using the new Reason to Smile set, this is a new exclusive set that is available in August for FREE with an order of £60.

For further details click on here

It's such a pretty set & I've managed to use every stamp in the set with this card. I used my trusty stamp-a-ma-jig to get all the stamps lined up.

The colours I've used are Soft Suede, Riding Hood Red & So Saffron.

Children's workshop

I got a message on Wednesday asking if I could do 2 x 45 minute workshops for a group of children at a summer school for the Friday (today). Nothing like working under pressure :)

I agreed & this is what we'll be making its an Eid Mubarak card that can be changed to a Happy Birthday card for the non Muslims.

I thought punch art would appeal to all so there's a little bit of stamping and some punching out to do.

I used the largest circle punch & the post it note technique to make the moon & the towers/temples are the ornament punch upside down. Simple really, I hope they enjoy making it as much as I did creating it. The stars are from the Sprinkled Expressions set which is one the recent SAB sets.

Top Note Birthday Card

Another quick post with a card I made for another friend & demo.

This time using the Top Note die which has been a bit neglected of late. The papers are Flirtatious, colours are Pretty in Pink & Wisteria Wonder which I think go lovely together.

I've used the Four Frames set (another neglected craft item!) With a sentiment from the Petit Pairs set.

Having a lazy Saturday today & waiting for our takeaway to arrive!

Just a quick post today to show a card I made for a friends birthday yesterday, I hope she got it.

It's using the Domestic Goddess papers sponged around the edges with Soft Suede.

It's a great card to make with your scraps.

A bit late but here are the projects for my class today using the gorgeous Everything Eleanor stamp set.

First up an A6 landscape card using Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake and Naturals Ivory with a matching Stepper Box.

Next up are 2 more A6 cards using Crumb Cake, Rose Red, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.

I've also used my Colour Spritzing tool on this card, I think it gives a great effect.

Hope you have a good weekend.

Wedding Anniversary card

After a lovely holiday & nearly a full week to get over the holiday! I've made a wedding anniversary card for my in laws. They're celebrating 60 years of marriage this Sunday.

Papers are Beau Chateau & cut using the framelits. Doily shape is from the Perfect Pennants die. I've used an Antique Brad & a short length of the gorgeous crochet trim to finish it off. I hope they like it.

My next class is Saturday 14th July & we'll be using the Everything Eleanor set, can't wait.

Saturday 9th June class - Tea Shoppe

What a wet and miserable day it is today!  It's half term this week so we've been busy doing family stuff.  I've just grabbed 5 minutes to put up the samples of what we'll be making at the class this Saturday.

I've seen a few cascading cards recently and wanted to have a go at making one myself.  I designed the template so that it worked on a sheet of A4 and I used my new score board which made it really easy.

I love this card, so simple but so pretty.

One for the dads, this could be changed to someone's initials if Dad wasn't appropriate.

Another score board creation :)

There are still places at the moment for the class this Saturday so email me to book on.

Have a good weekend.

I made a quick thank you card for my lovely customers who ordered this month.

It uses the Triple Treat flower stamp layered using the Five Petal punch & small circle punch.

The base card is Naturals Ivory which is a great neutral colour. The sentiment is from the Oval All set.

I hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather we're having :)
