Best of Flowers class

Hurrah the lovely weather is back!

I'm off to my class in a mo but realised I'd forgotten to share the projects.

We'll be using the fab new Best of Flowers set which is the first in a line of Best of sets that Stampin' Up! are releasing to celebrate 25 years of SU! Each month they'll release a new one which features some favourite retired stamps & some new ones too.

They are only available in clear mount but are priced at only £13.95 so a bargain.

Anyway here's my projects using Crumb Cake, Pretty in Pink (some to be retired), Very Vanilla and a hint of Wild Wasabi.

I've used a misting technique on the gift wallet which I learnt at the recent SU training in Telford from a fab demonstration by another demonstrator.  Check out a video of the day here.

Thank you cards

Just a quick post to show the thank you cards I have put with my orders this month.

I case'd this from Stamping With Dawn, it's a really cute idea for something different.

The card stock is Natural White which I've only just discovered! And the papers are the retired pack Festival of Prints in the Winter mini.

The stamp set is Betsy's Blossoms which I've not used for a while, in Gumball Green ink.

Quick card change

Last minute cards are always a pain aren't they, I had forgotten about a friends son's birthday & hadn't got a card ready no didn't have a lot of time so decided to change a card I already had.

The original card was a quite a girly card but I knew I could change that easily. I stamped the cute balloon and bunting from the Collage Curios set in Wisteria Wonder then punched out with a circle punch & layered them over the original design. I then cut strips of Wisteria Wonder card stock to cover the original border which was a bit girly too. I'm happy with the result & you'd never know that it started out as a girls card. Simples :)

Simple but effective card

That's a ominous blog title! I case'd this card from a US Stampin' Up! publication. I love how simple but effective it is (hence the title!)

Colours are Basic Grey & Bashful Blue which compliment each other really well. The stamp set used is the Itty Bitty Banner set which I lined up using my trusty Stamp a ma jig.

The small punch out is from the Itty Bitty punch pack, it was fiddly but not too difficult to line them up.

Beyond Plaid

After a fab class yesterday I've managed to have a crafty play today too.

I bought the Beyond Plaid set from the Spring mini as I loved the patterns straight away. Though I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it!

I stamped the image in Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip & Bashful Blue then punched out with the 1 1/4"  punch to create the background. I used the Oval framelits to create the topper with the cute Itty Bitty butterfly punch & the left over bits of the stamping.

I'm really happy with how it's turned out & I can't wait to use the other patterns in the set.

Origami bookmark

We're currently on the second week of the Easter holidays & unfortunately my youngest has been poorly since he finished school, typical.

Just a little project today, I've created an Origami bookmark using some Pool Party designer series paper. It's surprisingly easy to make & I used the tutorial here. I've finished off with an Antique brad.

Collage Curios class

I've put together the class for Saturday 13th April, we'll be using the versatile Collage Curios stamp set from the Spring mini.  We'll be making a pretty gift bag, 3 cute notecards and 3 matching envelopes.

The colour combo is Gumball Green, Melon Mambo and So Saffron, I'm more of a Subtles fan but I really love these colours together.

The cost of the class is just £12.50 and that includes everything you need to make the projects or for just £19.50 you can have the class and the clear stamp set, the rrp of the stamp set is £14.95 so a real bargain.

March class

We had a fun & very busy class last Saturday. We made a Tea Caddy, Tri-fold shutter card & a simple card. Whilst the projects seemed difficult, once I broke them down & demoed the tough bits everyone went away with lovely projects. Though working in inches was tough!! I'm so not used to them.

We used the beautiful Tea for Two papers, can't wait to use these again and the Tea Shoppe stamp set.  With the gorgeous Pleasant Poppies stamp for the card on the right.

Birthday card

I sharing another card I made recently, this one is using the Lacy Brocade embossing folder which I've got showing the de bossed side. I then cut out a section with one of the Apothacary Framelits. The card base is Crumb Cake with the Sycamore Street papers as the background paper. I've also used a flower from the flower trim ribbon coloured with a Calypso Coral marker.

I'm really pleased with it, it doesn't have a recipient yet so will store into handy card file.

Cool pinwheels

I managed to have a crafty play this weekend with my new Spring/Summer goodies.

This card uses the new Sizzix pinwheel die which is only £4.50 & the fab Cloudy Day embossing folder. I also used ribbon from the pack available in the SAB set.

Thank you card

Just a quick post with a little thank you card that anyone who ordered from me in January received.

It's using the fab Madison Avenue SAB stamp set that you can earn free with a £45 order till 22nd March!

I love the colours too, Pool Party & Rich Razzleberry. Colours I've not put together before but look really cool & bright.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Banners set from the main catalogue which can also be earned for free during SAB!

Valentines Day card

I'm part of a ladies networking group that meet on a monthly basis and this month it was my turn to promote what I can do. I thought I'd do a Valentines Day card make & take. The colours are Rose Red, Chocolate Chip & Marina Mist. I used the You are Loved stamp set with hearts using the Fashionable Hearts Embosslits.

They loved it and were really pleased with how well their cards turned out.

Boys birthday card

How's the snow been affecting you? It's been quite bad here though the kids only missed Monday at school. It's pretty sunny today & it looks like a lot of it is melting now (I hope!).

I've made a couple of quick cards this morning, my son has 2 birthday parties this weekend and typically I've left it to the last minute to make the cards! I've made them both the same as they don't know each other & one design is enough to think about first thing in the morning.

I do struggle with boys cards not to make them too girly. I don't have any boy stamps but these cards prove you don't always need them. I've used paper from the Festival of Prints paper that is in the Autumn/Winter mini, which will finish 31st Jan.

It's just Island Indigo card stock as the base with a mat of Chocolate Chip with stripes of paper on Whisper White card stock.

The sentiment is a new SAB set called Pretty Petites with a co-ordinating punch which is also a SAB freebie. Just order £45 & one of these can be yours. I'm a sucker for a punch!

Have a good weekend

January class

I hope everyone had a good Christmas & New Year, we had a fab time and no illness! Which was a shocker as everyone around us was falling ill.

We had the first class of the year on Saturday and made these cards & concertina card box. We used the beautiful Natural Composition papers which are my favourite. They're more like card stock. I cased the cards from some I'd seen on Julie Kettlewell's blog.

We all had a fab time and ladies at the class were really pleased with their projects.
